A shipper or logistics service provider (with a need for transport) can easily collaborate with inland shipping entrepreneurs to organize its transport down to the last detail. The momentum is good at 4shipping: as a startup we work together with the largest companies active in inland shipping, we have over 1000 satisfied users, we regularly appear on TV and much more. What are you actually doing?

As a developer you develop new functionalities that make shippers, logistics service providers and inland shipping entrepreneurs happy. These functionalities make the organization of transport even easier. As our technical expert you have the responsibility to make the best choices together with us in order to optimally help our customers.

Do you have your own ideas on how to make the platform much smarter and more effective? We’ll love that! We are happy to give you space to contribute and develop your own ideas.

Can that be more specific?

• Yes, pay attention!
• You develop by adding new modules to the current platform or expanding and optimizing existing modules. With this we make other parts of the inland shipping process simple for customers.
• You develop new user roles in the platform to further connect other parties in the sector
• Add smart tools so that we take even more work off our users’ hands.
• Linking external services through API connections

Can that be more technical?

You develop the backend according to the JSON:API specs. You work with the Laravel framework as a basis in PHP7. After writing Unit tests, you push your code to Git. The unit and UI tests run in our docker images on the CI platform and give you the green light. Your changes are then automatically deployed on the acceptance platform.

What do we ask of you?

• At least 5 years of experience with PHP (OOP) and MySQL. Knowledge of Laravel and Docker is a plus.
• You know how to quickly create customer value, but also how to develop functionality in a sustainable way for the longer term
• You know it much better than we do and show it
• You like to experiment to get the best out of it
• You work in the Rotterdam area and at home
• You are creative and eager to learn, therefore there is no such thing as problems but rather challenges
• You enjoy the diversity of features that you have to deal with at a startup.
